A Cool Damp Place

I have a few friends who are artists in Australia; I am worried about them and their fellow residents who are going through the worst bush fires in history. As the news is now reporting, it is believed that the fires were set intentionally, and more than 130 people have lost their lives.

To respond to this, I am going to donate 10% of every sale that I make for the rest of this month to the Australian Red Cross. If you want to donate directly (every penny counts) you can donate online here.

Goodness, last I heard it was 85 people - now it's up to 130+? That is devestating. I can't even fathom the horror of living through wildfires. And to think that someone intentionally set them boggles my mind. I hope, if it's even possible, that they catch whoever did it. My thoughts are with everyone in AU.

Oh no! But what a great idea for you to donate from your sales, that's so thoughtful of you!

I've raised $7.10 so far! Hooray! What I heard was that the fire was intentionally set in a town and then spread. Supposedly the arsonists were trying to burn down the town (I'm not sure how they know that since they haven't captured them yet). I just can't imagine what goes through people's minds. It's bad enough that people's homes and pets were destroyed, but can you imagine losing your child to such a mindless act?? I'm full of sadness.

That's awesome, what you've raised! You'll have to blog about the grand total. Oh yeah, I left you a little something over at my blog ;-) Enjoy your "prize"!

Thank-You SO very much, Stephanie. You are such a fabulous support. My fabulous customers have raised almost $30.00for the Australian Red Cross by shopping in my Etsy store this month; I will be blogging about it as soon as I have a final total!
