Making Chores Fun

As you probably know by now, I love to hang laundry on the clothesline, and so I bought myself a gift: a new clothespin bag. I stumbled upon this great creator on Flickr, where I saw some pictures of her handmade clothespin bags. I sent her a note and asked if she sold them or patterns to make them: as it turns out, she's also an Etsy seller! I decided that it was time to retire my old, worn out bag.

The new one arrived today, and was so nicely packaged I felt like a rock star. It makes such a difference to me when sellers treat me like a valued person! Anyhow, Mary Kay has a really nice shop on Etsy called Geneva Designs, which you can check out here. All of her clothespin bags are fabulous: it was tough to choose between them, but I really liked the retro feel of this one, and I'm a sucker for striped binding and polka dots, so this one won out. I love the fact that I can put my portable phone (or cell phone) in one of the pockets. I'm often outside in the garden or hanging clothes up while Bronwyn is in school, and I need to be available in case the school needs me.

Anyhow, it feels nice to talk about another artist for a change. I was starting to bore myself!

Happy summer, friends!

I saw clothespin-bags in American films...but never met one in real life. It is so interesting to see, that someone actually do use these, and they are not only on films :-)

Those are too wonderful, I may need one! In fact, I think I do need one.

Sigh. Now I HAVE to put up a clothesline! (I have one, I just never put it up again when we moved. I've been meaning to for ages though). I'll have to tell my man that I have work for him, because I wont dare shimmy up that pole! haha
These are gorgeous. They'd also make a nice place to store other tiny things in the closet, like baby socks! (My kids are 5 and 6 and i'm still finding those itty bitty socks everywhere!)

That's an interesting perspective, Judit! When I was in Europe, everyone hung their clothes to dry, but they draped items on racks instead of using pins. But I hadn't thought of that difference before now.

so glad you're happy, this fabric has been one of my favorites for a long time. I'm always so hesitant to use a favorite, because, well, what if I don't like the finished product? Then I don't have my favorite piece anymore. Glad I took the risk :-)
